When Julia Restoin-Roitfeld graduated Parsons The New School for Design in 2006, the Department of Design + Management published the thesis abstracts of the senior class in a booklet entitled Designing Value. I had the good fortune to discover the collection of abstracts recently and of course I wanted to share it with all of you. I think Julia's thesis is not only clever, I think it is the future of the industry. As individuals continually have more and more access to goods (and via street photography blogs ways to wear them), homogeneity is the clear result. By being able to customize your goods at point of purchase you can better control your identity—the value added is individuality. What do you think?
