Julia Restoin-Roitfeld: It Girl

Julia Restoin-Roitfeld appears in an article titled "Fashion's New It Girls" by Derek Blasberg for the September issue of Harper's Bazaar. Though I do not think any of these girls are actually "new" to the scene, it is an interesting read nonetheless. Also on the list of "young, single, excitable, sexually liberated women" (to paraphrase Blasberg) filling the front row at fashion shows: Giovanna Battaglia, Lou Doillon, Bianca and Coco Brandolini d'Adda, Gaia Repossi, Margherita Missoni, Eugénie Niarchos, Charlotte Dellal, Delfina Delettrez Fendi, Shala Monroque, Caroline Sieber, Sophia Hesketh, Joséphine de La Baume, Natalia Vodianova, Dasha Zhukova, Lauren and Tatiana Santo Domingo, Alexia Niedzielski, Clémence Poésy, and Joana Preiss.

I really don't think these ladies need personal shoppers. I cannot imagine Julia taking fashion advice from someone else. I'm pretty sure Maman Roitfeld would disapprove... They not only have the money to buy what they want, they have exposure to the most stylish people in the land. Live & learn, right?

Interesting choice of words "young, single, excitable, sexually liberated women". Just what does "sexually liberated" mean? I suppose it depends on what side of the Atlantic you are...

Thank you for the reassurance that these women are out there making their own selections, Milla. I think it is fundamentally different if they are not as it becomes impossible to judge strictly the individual's taste.

As for what sexually liberated means to me, I think it is pretty much unpublishable on every continent...
