Julia Restoin-Roitfeld: Born To It

Savoir Flair features an interview with Julia Restoin-Roitfeld titled "Born to It" in which she shares her love for art direction, Topshop, dolphins, Miu Miu shoes, Mark Fast, and Robert Konjic (he may be The One!); admits her embarrassment at her birthday debauchery; and confesses her weakness for croque madames and foie gras. Sadly none of the photographs of Julia that accompany the interview are new but it is definitely worth the read.

Carine Roitfeld: Le Grand Jeu

I find myself in the mood for warmer weather and fewer clothes so let's take inspiration from this sexy editorial "Le Grand Jeu" styled by Carine Roitfeld for the September 2003 issue of Vogue Paris. The model is Carolyn Murphy, basking in the luxurious setting of the InterContinental Carlton in Cannes; Mario Testino had the pleasure of shooting the editorial with makeup by Tom Pêcheux and hair by Samantha Hillerby.

What is the game that Carine has in mind? She describes it thusly: "De ses ongles laqués rubis à l'imprimé fauve de sa blouse en mousseline, de la fièvre en centimètres de ses escarpins au bleu aphrodisiaque de ses yeux, tout chez elle respire la féminin exalté. Un sex-appeal solaire qui attise la convoitise et peut rendre fou." In English: "From her ruby lacquered nails to the tawny printed chiffon of her blouse, from the fever of the centimeters of her heels to the blue aphrodisiac of her eyes, everything about her exudes the impassioned female. A solar sex appeal that stirs the lust and can drive you mad." Kellina likes the heat...

New Vogue Paris Editor-In-Chief: Emmanuelle Alt

Vogue Paris has just announced their new editor-in-chief — Emmanuelle Alt will be the next woman to lead the influential magazine, taking the place of our beloved Carine Roitfeld. She advances from her current role as fashion director for Vogue Paris. I cannot wait to see what Emmanuelle has planned for us... In her own words of acceptance she promises to keep developing the magazine, “It is a great honor for me, but also a great pleasure to become the editor of Vogue Paris that I know so well. Giovanna Battaglia: Total Gold

With Carine Roitfeld leaving Vogue Paris, we will naturally look to fashion editor Giovanna Battaglia (and girlfriend of Carine's son, Vladimir Restoin-Roitfeld) to provide us with the visual stimulation we crave. The gorgeous spreads seen here in "Total Gold" are from the December 2010 issue of Vogue Gioiello; La Battaglia gives the editorial her golden touch with photography by Sofia Sanchez and Mauro Mongiello completing the picture. I love especially that she selected the rabbit mask worn by one of the Missonis at the Vogue Paris masked ball as a prop for this editorial, I adored it when I saw it then. I also like her choice of four gold rings by Repossi, très chic. What do you think of Giovanna's work here, solid gold or not sold? See Roitfeld In Private Tom Ford Show

At last we can watch Julia Restoin-Roitfeld work the runway in the secret preview that Tom Ford orchestrated in September for his women's Spring 2011 collection. Though her appearance in the video is altogether too brief, I love how Julia is dressed and styled for the occasion; she exudes confidence in black leather tailored to her measurements. The song playing in the video is "Pretty Babies" by model Karen Elson.
