Restoin-Roitfeld At British Fashion Awards

Earlier this week the British Fashion Awards were held in London and Julia Restoin-Roitfeld and Robert Konjic were part of the party. Unfortunately, Carine Roitfeld was not. Awards went to Georgia May Jagger for Model of the Year, Kate Moss for the London 25, Christopher Bailey for Designer of the Year, Kim Jones for Menswear Designer of the Year, Katie Hillier for Accessory Designer of the Year, Christopher Kane for Collection of the Year, Peter Pilotto for the Swarovski Emerging Talent Award for Ready-To-Wear, Holly Fulton for the Swarovski Emerging Talent Award for Accessories, Burberry for Designer Brand of the Year, John Galliano for Outstanding Achievement in Fashion Design, and Grace Coddington for the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator which was presented by Karen Elson despite having walked into the orchestra pit when taking the stage, falling four feet, and spraining her thumb. Poor dear! I am in love with the body con fringed outfit by Mark Fast that Julia is rocking, she looks smashing.

Not much news to report, so I looked through my private collection and found this fun photo of Julia Restoin-Roitfeld. I love the expressions of the photographers, they literally cannot even focus while caught in Julia's force field! I believe the photo was taken at Cannes, isn't she lovely?

The Roitfelds At Indochine Anniversary Party

On Friday night Indochine celebrated 25 years of decadence with seven hours of non-stop over-the-top partying and of course both of the Restoin-Roitfelds, Julia and Vladimir, were part of the wild scene. The 1920s Shanghai party theme inspired delightful costumes, the signature edibles tantalized partygoers, and the deft DJs kept the packed crowd gyrating.

The evening's entertainment featured go-go dancers in birdcages as well as on poles and performances by Raven O, Narcissister, Peppermint, Epiphany, and The Ones with Wanda Acosta, Belinda Becker, Nick Cohen, Coleman, Donna D’Cruz, Mess Kid, and Rawdon spinning.

The swank soirée was hosted by owners Michael Callahan, Jean-Marc Houmard, and Huy Chi Le; among the guests were Lily Donaldson, Naomi Watts, Iman, Zac Posen, Willem Dafoe, Charlotte and Olivier Sarkozy, Anna Sui, Michael Keaton, Andy Valmorbida, Frederique van der Wal, Harley Viera-Newton, Jean-Philippe Delhomme, Chiara Clemente, Victor Calderone, Rosie Perez, Byrdie Bell, Liev Schreiber, Erin Fetherston, Ellen von Unwerth, Narciso Rodriguez, Francisco Costa, Genevieve Jones, Stephen Gan, Hamish Bowles, Stefano Tonchi, Jennifer Brill, Sam Shaffer, Isabel Rattazzi, and Poppy De Villeneuve.

The Roitfelds are clearly smitten with the place, as Julia said, “I come here all the time..I’ve had my three last birthdays here, my brothers’ three last birthdays, all the big events...It’s quite a magical place, you know?” If you did not make the party, there's also the Indochine 25th anniversary book...

The Roitfelds At Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

Merde, what is going on with Carine Roitfeld? I have kept my opinion to myself on many a topic but the thing around her neck ices this cake for me. Et les cheveux ?? If this is a midlife crisis, this is wonderful in terms of numbers but for fashion it spells disaster. If this catches on and I have to watch a bunch of fat girls parading around as futuristic bull fighting superheroines, I'm going to hurl. There, I've said it. Go ahead and label me fatist and swear never to read my words again but sincerely—do you? Further, we are NOT going back to big hair, I flatly refuse.

Let's not allow this to spoil the fact that Julia looks stunning in Christoper Kane for Topshop. Oh why oh why did I not order that dress the day the collection was released?! Julia is simply radiant, I guess a few weeks in London were restorative. Though she does have that superhero stance...thank the stars she is not wearing a cape.
