The Roitfelds In Cannes 2012

Carine Roitfeld's “Perfect Black Wardrobe"

Carine Roitfeld curated the first ever Cannes fashion show as part of the amfAR Gala at the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc last week. The theme was "Perfect Black Wardrobe," consisting entirely of black dresses by designers such as Tom Ford, Chanel, Balenciaga, Anthony Vaccarello, Christopher Kane, Dior, Lanvin, Alexander Wang, Roberto Cavalli, and Versace. Hosting the show were Antonio Banderas, Adrien Brody, Eva Herzigova, and Karolina Kurkova. Modeling the collection of black gowns were Ana Beatriz Barros, Hanaa Ben Abdesslem, Cara Delevigne, Lily Donaldson, Jourdan Dunn, Cora Emmanuel, Isabeli Fontana, Kate Upton, Edita Vilkeviciute, Lindsey Wixson, and Ming Xi. The entire wardrobe selected by Carine was auctioned for $377,000. The auction broke all former records, raising nearly $11 million to help fight AIDS.

De Grisogono Party

Carine Roitfeld wore a vintage sequin dress created by Norma Kamali in 1977 for the de Grisogono party at Cannes.

Julia Restoin-Roitfeld For i-D Magazine

Mamma mia! Or perhaps "ma maman" is a better choice… In any event, expectant mother Julia Restoin-Roitfeld looks stunning and radiant on the cover of the Summer 2012 issue of i-D Magazine, "Lights, Camera, Action." The shot was styled by her mother, Carine Roitfeld, and every detail perfectly accentuates Julia's assets, with the sweetest spot being the stuffed teddy bear covering her right eye in the i-D tradition. Shot by Mario Sorrenti, Julia bares her baby bump beneath the sexy Cadolle bra and the shimmering McQueen cape, and notice that she is wearing her Cartier Love bracelet that was a gift from her parents, another sweet touch. Inside the issue, JRR reveals her ideas for dressing the baby and the songs she will play for him or her. I like to think of it as the first magazine to include three generations of Roitfelds. The goodness hits newsstands 10 May.
