Vogue Paris October 2010: Lara Stone

We all know that Carine Roitfeld honored Lara Stone with the October cover of Vogue Paris celebrating the 90th anniversary and likely you saw the photo but I have a tradition of posting the cover each month so here it is. At 624 pages, the special issue weighs 2.2 kilograms and features over 100 pages of personal letters from various designers and houses commemorating the anniversary of the magazine.

Also included are fascinating archival treasures such as an interview with Jeanne Moreau by Françoise Sagan (Carine's favorite author), an interview with Romy Schneider as shot by Helmut Newton (two of Carine's style icons), and an intimate letter of love to Elizabeth Taylor from Richard Burton. The October issue of Vogue Paris hits kiosks on September 27, note that I previously misstated the date. Also prepare for a slight price increase, the magazine usually sells for 4.90 € but readers must pay 5.90 € for this special issue.

Vogue Paris Rumors

Masquerade is the theme for the October issue of Vogue Paris and the seductive image of Lara Stone above is rumored to be for the 90th anniversary cover. Then in November for the cover Carine Rotifeld reportedly chose to feature Daphne Groeneveld as photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. For the special December/January issue of Vogue Paris we hear that the guest editor is none other than the fabulous Tom Ford and among other wonders he promises to give us a peek at his top secret collection... Lots to look forward to in the coming months!

Roitfeld Photos At New York Fashion Week

Carine Roitfeld and Anna Dello Russo compare notes about the shows. Courtesy of altamiranyc.blogspot.com.Carine Roitfeld is so casually chic in each outfit that she chose for New York Fashion Week, wearing every look from the camel and cream palette to the military influence with her infamous aplomb. Which are your favorite looks? I think I prefer the leopard coat and black thigh high boots, Carine is utterly fierce in this outfit. Ooops, almost forget the standout Emilio Pucci python jacket, so luxe...

p.s. Meant to mention that photographs of the Roitfelds at New York Fashion Week are now organized neatly in the gallery, enjoy!

Vogue Paris Playlist: New York Fashion Week

In a typical display of impeccable taste, Vogue Paris posted a playlist of favorite songs heard on the runway during New York Fashion Week. I have assembled the songs on Grooveshark as "New York Fashion Week Playlist by Vogue Paris" so if you were unable to view the collections yourself at least you can enjoy the music that accompanied the shows. Also visit the Vogue Paris web site to see the music video for each song.

I would love to know which of these tunes Carine Roitfeld was grooving to... How about you? Which of these songs are your favorites? Which collections do you prefer this season? Let's rap people, I totally crave comments and I need the motivation to collect the New York Fashion Week photos for the gallery...
