Roitfeld Walks In Secret Tom Ford Show

As you have probably heard by now, Tom Ford revealed his highly anticipated collection for women at a secret show in the intimacy of his Madison Avenue store yesterday. Perhaps best of all, Ford chose to unveil his collection by using famous celebrities, singers, and actresses rather than limiting himself to models. Certainly worst of all is the fact that he banned cameras at the show (other than Terry Richardson) so we have nary a glimpse of the goodness, though I did hear that Carine Roitfeld was wearing a black lace lingerie dress from Ford's Yves Saint Laurent era. Ford himself narrated the collection, introducing each model and describing every garment in detail as it graced the runway.

Modeling the sexy collection were Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, Julianne Moore (the female lead in Ford's first film A Single Man) and her daughter, Liv Helen Freundlich, Lou Doillon, Emmanuelle Seigner, Natalia Vodianova, Chanel Iman, Stella Tennant, Rita Wilson, Daphne Guinness, Victoria Fernandez, Liya Kebede, Carolyn Murphy, Du Juan, Liu Wen, Karlie Kloss, Lakshmi Menon, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Freja Beha Erichsen (the face for Tom Ford Eyewear), Anja Rubik, Daria Werbowy, Karen Elson, Amber Valletta, Monika Jagaciak, Lauren Hutton, Joan Smalls, Marisa Berenson, Rachel Feinstein, Rinko Kikuchi, Lisa Eisner, Farida Khelfa, Edita Vilkeviciute, and Beyoncé Knowles.

Cathy Horyn of The New York Times gives us an idea of the clothes: “Sharp pantsuits in black silk or a leopard pattern, gorgeous black evening clothes with sheer blouses, corsets and maybe a shrug in shredded tulle, impeccable details like hammered gold jewellery, stilettos with ankle ties and seamed black stockings." The collection will be available at Tom Ford stores internationally in February.

Vogue Fashion Celebration Night Video

Vogue Paris has posted a video of the highlights from Vogue Fashion Celebration Night on its web site and though the magic lasts for only 3:25, we see a surprisingly thorough glimpse of the fashionable evening. Featured on the video are not only Carine Roitfeld but Phoebe Philo, Emmanuelle Alt, Olivier Lalanne, Jean Paul Gaultier, and more. Regrettably Carine does not speak in the video for some reason; I would love to know the amusement she is sharing with Phoebe Philo on her Blackberry at Céline...

Carine Roitfeld: Top Ten Fashion Icon

Style.com has announced a list of the ten most influential icons in fashion over the last decade internationally and of course they chose Carine Roitfeld. How does she define her iconic look? Bare legs; teetering heels; big fur chubby; short, short dress; all black. And don't forget key accessory daughter Julia. I love how she wears her heart on her sleeve: the labels in her closet that Carine specifies include Givenchy, Tom Ford-era Gucci, and Equipment by her partner Christian Restoin. Visit style.com to read more about our favorite fashion icon.

Vogue Fashion Celebration Night 2010 Guide

Tonight is the night — Vogue Fashion Celebration Night in Paris with Carine Roitfeld, Emmanuelle Alt, and the Vogue Paris team on hand to personally assist you with your selections. In honor of the occasion, I have created a convenient guide to the top boutiques that are hosting events. Though more than 60 stores will be celebrating tonight, Vogue Paris detailed the festivities taking place at 29 of these on the web site. I have designed a map of the Golden Triangle with numerals designating these 29 stores, teal musical notes indicating a DJ or live performance in store, and hot pink glasses denoting that cocktails will be served. Please feel free to download the full-sized Vogue Fashion Celebration Night Guide, print, and enjoy! Hope you get to meet Carine!
