Roitfeld And Berger Reunion

This is the current Twitter photo of Magnus Berger which shows him cozying up with Julia Restoin-Roitfeld whom I believed was his former girlfriend. Suddenly I am not so sure, Magnus just began this Twitter account a little more than a month ago. Where does Robert Konjic fit into the picture? If you know what I would l like to know please let me know.

Vogue Paris May 2010: Penélope Cruz

Carine Roitfeld celebrates the spirit of the month of Cannes with the star studded May issue of Vogue Paris. For this truly special edition, Carine has pulled out all the stops: Penélope Cruz is the guest editor for the issue with three different celebrity covers.

The first cover of the three May Vogue Paris covers features Cruz, Julianne Moore, Gwyneth Paltrow, Meryl Streep, Naomi Watts, and Kate Winslet; the second cover is graced by Cruz and Streep; and the third is devoted to Cruz and Bono. All three covers were photographed by Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. Packaged with the issue is a special backstage DVD of Daria Werbowy's beauty editorial with Aaron De May as shot by Ben Hasset [Editor's note: the bonus gifts are typically for subscribers only as I understand].

Compelling editorials include "Paradis En Chine" styled by Roitfeld, shot by Karl Lagerfeld, and starring of course Mrs. Johnny Depp or Vanessa Paradis; "La Décadanse" also by Carine, with Daria Werbowy and Francesco Vezzoli modeling and Mario Testino shooting; "Plage Privée" styled by Emmanuelle Alt featuring Natasha Poly captured by Mario Sorrenti; and perhaps most of all—"Erotica" in which La Roitfeld styles her son's former lover Lily Donaldson as captured on film by Steven Klein. I give this issue a standing ovation.

Cool Carine

Special thanks to momentum mode for the kind permission to share this amazing illustration of Carine Roitfeld with you. Be sure to check out all the little "personnages" when you visit the site, including Sacré Karl, Sequin Dello Russo, Super Marc, Belle Emmanuelle, and of course, Cool Carine, c'est très drôle. Other cool things: momentum mode was one of the creative people featured in the new book The Selby Is In Your Place and it looks like this fabulous pad may even boast a... Picasso?! Mon dieu, quelle chance !

Carine Roitfeld: Pretty Pantless

Aidez-moi! Carine Roitfeld is out without pants again and she is making me like it. I dunno, it's something about the hair being barely restrained by the velvet choker this time (and no dastardly curls, phew!), but she looks really pretty. In a fierce, I-can-kick-the-merde-outta-you manner, bien sûr. Carine is pictured here attending the dinner party to celebrate the opening of Ralph Lauren's flagship store in Paris.

Julia Restoin-Roitfeld's Library

Muito obrigada to my friend Sil for when I visited her blog Li em Algum Lugar, or in English "I read somewhere," I remembered that we have yet to explore the library of Julia Restoin-Roitfeld. As you can see in the photographs of her apartment taken by Todd Selby last year, Julia has an admirable collection of books but an aversion to shelves. Instead she stacks her books neatly against one wall of her living room, ever so chic and minimalist.

Clearly her brother Vladimir is not the only one in the family with a taste for photography and art, along with film these topics are the focus in most of the volumes seen here with chronologically archived issues of Vogue Paris comprising the remainder. Following is a list of les livres de Julia Restoin-Roitfeld. A few of the titles are out of print but I have linked to more information about the books if available. What are your thoughts on Mademoiselle Restoin-Roitfeld's library?
