Carine Roitfeld For Dior For Printemps Holiday 2012

Dior and Printemps have collaborated to create a sparkling new advertising campaign for the holiday season as styled by Carine Roitfeld, art directed by Stephen Gan, and photographed by Mario Testino. The campaign stars Carolyn Murphy and Sui He wearing Dior couture with the Printemps flagship store and the Eiffel Tower serving as background. The whimsical window display at Printemps will feature twelve mechanical puppets dressed by the Dior couturiers in the most iconic looks of the house although I am not sure if Carine was involved in this facet of the project.

Paolo de Cesare, Printemps chairman and chief executive officer, is pleased with the results: “It has been one of the most creative collaborations we have done with brands, and I think it’s really setting the standard of what’s possible between brands and a department store. We wanted to do something that could capture this excitement, this energy and also a bit of this unexpected collaboration and moment that we’re bringing together.” Watch for print and outdoor advertising images to appear beginning 15 November.

Rumor has it that as a result of her first meeting with Monsieur Biesenbach, Carine Roitfeld will be curating a Caravaggio exhibit for the Museum of Modern Art. Carine Roitfeld: Dictionnaire Impertinent De La Mode

I was excited to receive a note from the talented and lovely Isabelle Oziol de Pignol, sharing with me her latest artistic accomplishment: she has illustrated a sassy dictionary of fashion and of course who but Carine Roitfeld would appear under the letter "R." Published in September by François Bourin Editeur, Dictionnaire impertinent de la mode is a humorous and refreshing look at fashion written by Sylvie Barbier, the former editor-in-chief of the French edition of Marie Claire, and illustrated by Isabelle Oziol de Pignol. Readers may recognize Isabelle's style from the banner images she created for IWTBAR and IWTBAA, please be sure to visit Accro de la Mode to see more of her work. Note that the book is printed entirely in French but Isabelle's marvelous illustrations transcend any language barrier.

For Halloween this year, Julia Restoin-Roitfeld chose to fulfill her superhero fantasies by donning a Wonder Woman costume; she is pictured here with Poppy Delevingne dressed as Little Red Riding Hood. Talk about a natural look, Julia puts Lynda Carter to shame...

Note also that Vladimir Restoin-Roitfeld hosted a Halloween party at the Gramercy Park Hotel over the weekend with the theme "Alohallowen" but I am having a tough time locating photos for the event, please let me know if you can help with this.
