Roitfeld Family Art

Check out this adorable collage made by Julia Restoin-Roitfeld for one of her classes she took at Parsons in New York. She has assembled small images of her family members into the form of the iconic photograph of her mother Carine taken by Karl Lagerfeld. Yes, there are even tiny pictures of Julia's elusive father Christian Restoin if you squint hard. Ingénieux, n'est-ce pas ?

Restoin-Roitfeld In Humor Chic

aleXsandro Palombo is a wild man and he illustrates this with the latest comic concept on his blog Humor Chic. The premise is "Toilet very chic" in which Palombo imagines invading the privacy of our fashion favorites in the privy including Julia Restoin-Roitfeld. Mademoiselle Julia is caught with her knickers 'round her knees reading material that requires little reading. Of course it is toilet humor, but the artist warns those that are not inclined with his caveat: "Instructions for use: We discourage anyone who is lacking in Humor Chic from viewing 'Toilet very chic'." Note that Palombo is not singling out Julia, other editorial offspring were also targeted in his shenanigans.

I Want To Be A Roitfeld Survey

It is hard to believe that I Want To Be A Roitfeld is nearly a year old but it is true and I would like to take this opportunity to survey you. I have assembled ten quick questions to gauge your interest in the site, what you like now, and what you would like to see in the future. It should take you just a couple minutes to complete it so I hope that you will feel free to share your thoughts. For the essay questions, please respond in your native language if you prefer and I will sort out the translation for myself. I am not sure if I will publish the results, but I will use this information to continuously improve the site. Click here to take the survey. Thank you for your feedback, it is the lifeblood of the site.

Roitfeld At Gucci Icon Temporary Opening

Julia Restoin-Roitfeld and Robert Konjic attended the Gucci Icon Temporary store opening together last night in Covent Garden in London and it looks as if they are one very happy couple. Monsieur Konjic served as the face for Gucci for his first modeling gig so naturally he and Julia were on hand to celebrate. The photo shown here is taken at the Gucci afterparty hosted by Jefferson Hack at Ronnie Scott's.

Trainer enthusiast Mark Ronson teamed up with Frida Giannini of Gucci to produce a limited edition line of shoes for the pop-up shop. About the collection, Ronson stated, "I spent many years as an avid sneaker collector so I wanted to make sure these shoes were truly special, both from an aesthetic point of view and a collectible one." Giannini says, "From the moment Mark and I started talking about this project, we connected. He has a great eye for design and an amazing knowledge of sneaker history. He is an artist whose influence is cross-cultural and cross-generational."

Other guests included Simon Le Bon and Nick Rhodes who stood in with Ronson's band, Chauffeur, Tolula Adeyemi, Jonny Borrell, Jamie Campbell-Bower, Dominic Cooper, Poppy Delevigne, Bryan Ferry, Sophia Hesketh, Pam Hogg, Ben Hudson, Yasmin Le Bon, Anouck Lepere, Leigh Lezark, Suzy Menkes, Savannah Miller, Amy Molyneux, Geordon Nicol, Rifat Ozbek, Percy Parker, Margo Stilley, and Bonnie Wright. The first Gucci Icon Temporary store launched in New York last October and then migrated to Miami in December; after London the shop will travel to Tokyo in June.
