Carine Roitfeld: As You Like It

Carine Roitfeld styled this editorial titled "As You Like It" for the February 2000 issue of Vogue US and I don't like it, I love it. Kate Moss models, Mario Testino shoots, and the clothes — ooooo la la ! In this editorial, La Roitfeld takes various pieces of couture and mixes it up to achieve two looks for each, one runway and one reality, both are sheer delights. Among other visual lessons, she teaches us how to wear scorching peony from head to toe, how to pair extravagant pieces like the Hussein Chalayan skirt with understated basics for more wear, and how to dress for space age equestrienne events.

Julia Restoin-Roitfeld: Today I'm Wearing

Vogue UK features a blog titled "Today I'm Wearing" on their web site and for the month of June they will focus on the style of none other than Julia Restoin-Roitfeld. Each morning we visit Julia's closet to see what she decides to wear. As JRR says, "Clothes can be either art or design but need a real purpose. To me they're a sort of pop art." She confesses that her style is sometimes rebellious and that she always dresses for herself. In the photograph above, Julia is wearing a dress by Emilio de la Morena that he made especially for her with shoes by Miu Miu, clutch by Jay Ahr, and bracelet by Lara Bohinc which Robert Konjic gave her to commemorate their first year together. I cannot wait to see tomorrow's outfit...

Battaglia: People And Jewelry

Watch Giovanna Battaglia at work! She and other editors styled a feature titled "People and Their Own Jewelry" for the May issue of Vogue Gioiello; sneak a peek behind the scenes at the shoot in the video on the Vogue Italia web site. You can see Giovanna styling Eugenie Niarchos and Gaia Repossi, the team that designs the line of Czarina rings worn by Carine Roitfeld, Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, and many others with influential style. Even Garance Doré admits to coveting one....

Roitfeld Love

I don't know about you but I feel warm and sunny when looking at these images of the Roitfelds at Cannes so in lieu of something newsworthy I figured — just smile.

Roitfeld At Louis Vuitton Maison Launch

Carine Roitfeld attended the opening of Louis Vuitton Maison on Bond Street in London last night and she looked chic in the Balmain dress, Alaïa shoes, and Cesar compression pendant that she wore for Armani's party in Cannes last week. Notice the difference in her hairstyle however. The party sounds completely over the top — guests were blindfolded and taken to a secret party location; DJ Dan Lynwood manned the decks before Donna Summer appeared and was joined on stage by none other than Marc Jacobs; Mark Hix provided the evening's simple and savory repast of Cornish sea bass, asparagus, and wild strawberries. Among the celebrities celebrating LV's lavish launch were Bernard Arnault, Gemma Arterton, Sir Peter Blake, Ozwald Boateng, Alexa Chung, Dominic Cooper, Sophie Dahl, Alice Dellal, Catherine Deneuve, Tracey Emin, Luke Evans, Bryan Ferry, Emilia Fox, Jasmine Guinness, Naomie Harris, Angelica Huston, Jade Jagger, Daisy Lowe, Elle Macpherson, Suzy Menkes, Thandie Newton, Bill Nighy, Gwyneth Paltrow, Grayson Perry, Clemence Poesy, Sir Nicholas Serota, Charles Saumarez Smith, Lady Helen Taylor, Stella Tennant, and Natalia Vodianova.
